Terms of service

These terms form an agreement between you and Chinmay Raj Nataraj, operating Mergent. By accessing or using the service, you agree to them. If you use Mergent for an organisation, you confirm that you can bind that organisation.

Effective 15 July 2026

01

The service

Mergent uses automated tools and third-party services to analyse authorised repositories, generate proposed code changes, build previews, and prepare pull requests. Features may change as the product develops.

02

Accounts and access

  • Provide accurate information and keep account credentials secure.
  • Only connect repositories and organisations you are authorised to access.
  • You are responsible for activity under your account and for promptly reporting suspected unauthorised use.
  • Organisation administrators control membership, repository connections, and workspace data.

03

Your content

You retain ownership of content you submit and of your repositories. You grant Mergent a limited licence to host, copy, analyse, transform, and transmit that content only as needed to operate, secure, and improve the service. You confirm that you have the rights required to provide it.

04

Generated output and review

AI-generated code can be incomplete, insecure, or incorrect. Output is a proposal, not a guarantee. You are responsible for reviewing, testing, approving, and deploying every change. Mergent does not automatically make a generated change safe for production.

05

Acceptable use

  • Do not use the service unlawfully, to infringe rights, or to process content you are not authorised to use.
  • Do not attempt to bypass access controls, probe other customers’ data, introduce malware, or disrupt the service.
  • Do not reverse engineer, resell, or use the service to build a competing model or product except where applicable law permits.
  • Do not submit secrets, regulated data, or highly sensitive personal information unless we have expressly agreed to support it.

06

Plans, billing, and cancellation

Paid plans are billed through Stripe at the price and interval shown at checkout. Charges are non-refundable except where required by law. You may cancel at any time; access continues through the paid period. We may change prices prospectively with reasonable notice.

07

Suspension and termination

You may stop using Mergent at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for material breach, security risk, non-payment, unlawful use, or where needed to protect the service or others. Where practical, we will provide notice and an opportunity to remedy the issue.

08

Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties and do not guarantee uninterrupted service or error-free output. Our total liability arising from the service will not exceed the amount you paid Mergent in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.

09

General

These terms and referenced policies are the entire agreement about the service. If a provision is unenforceable, the remainder stays effective. We may update these terms prospectively; continued use after an update means acceptance. Contact us through the link below with questions.
